Well hello faithful readers, I have something special to tell you today…but shhhhh, its kind of a secret {shiffty eyes}. We here at WAFN have been getting a little tired of the same old same old so we are gonna be making some changes…BIG CHANGES. In fact, WE ARE CHANGING SITES! Yes thats right. We have purchased the domain for www.WAFN.net and are in the process of making it sexy. Now its not quite finished yet so don’t just jump ship or you’ll end up with a blank page, but I can say that it is starting to look pretty sweet at this point. I won’t tell you exactly when we will be done because we have taken the Starcraft II stance when it comes to release dates “It will be done when its done”. Keep checking for updates because we want to open this bitch up as soon as we can. Until then, keep on reading.

So, as I am sure you can tell from my title, I intend to talk about government Internet Censorship. Who is with me when I say, “wow what a bad idea”? I mean think of it, if we had internet censorship I probably wouldn’t be able to say “fuck!, VAGINA, President Bush is a moron” and so on. Some may say that some things on the Internet are upsetting or insulting to people well guess what, so do stand up comedians, various movies and books, and meetings on the street. One out of three people who read this are idiots. It doesn’t bother me one bit that I said that, and I am also sure it won’t bother people who read it.

I mean sure there are web sites dedicated to spreading hate about groups, but those people will always be around. Just because you delete a KKK website doesn’t mean you have deleted the KKK. Besides for every site that advocates hate and ignorance, there are two that educate and warn people about such things. And while other people say that groups like the KKK having websites help to gather people to their “cause”, I say that some idiot who wants to join the KKK is going to do it regardless of the Internet, half those toothless ingrates probably don’t have the Internet.

Then there is the question of the government themselves doing the censorship. Having them censor the Internet would be like old NAZI Germany. Whatever the government didn’t like would get deleted off the net. Or perhaps if they controlled it all, they would give certain incentives on one site to benefit themselves. Say…discounts on retail sites for political memberships, votes, or subscriptions. As soon as the Internet is wrapped up tight and given to someone with a bow around it, there will be no fair play, and that person would be free to do what ever they want. Ironically, exactly what people who advocate censorship don’t want.

Not to long ago there was an incident on the Internet concerning AT&T censoring a Pearl Jam concert on their website. For info on that and more concerning Net Neutrality and Internet Censorship I urge you to check it out here.

As a personal favor I would like you the reader to do two things for me. One RIGHT NOW post a comment telling me your thoughts on Internet censorship, and two, next time you meet someone who advocates this stupidity censor them to see how they like it. Tell them that you refuse to talk to them if they at all swear, or that you can’t talk to people with their color of hair because its against your morals or the way you were raised…..Then go write an angry blog on the Internet in spite.

Because this is the Internet HEAR ME ROAR!!!!!!!!!!

Well ladies and gents, we are back from an exciting weekend in Toronto with a little scoop on the upcoming Pure Pwnage episode number 16. Now we don’t want to give too much away, but the episode is entitled “Duty Calls” and features a birthday party for one of the characters and an epic “battle” of sorts which was quite entertaining. As much as we would like to go on, you are going to have to wait until the March 8th web release date to see the whole thing.

Besides the episode itself, the screening was a lot of fun in general. We started off in the huge lineup of eager gamers that stretched out from the Bloor cinema entrance all the way down the street and around the corner. The atmosphere was positively energetic as the doors finally swung open and everyone poured inside to await the pwnage. The lights came on and out the lieutenant to introduce Jeremy (aka teh_pwnerer aka Jarett Cale), the others and to greet everyone and then introduce episode 14 and 15 to warm everyone up for the premier. After the two episodes there was an intermission where we got to meet DAVE and JEREMY (see pictures, I, rapidfire, look like shit, but whatever…). They turned out to be really cool, down to earth guys and were eager to have a nice casual talk with their fans. Once the intermission was over episode 16 played and we really enjoyed it, but we can’t tell you why…you’ll find out soon enough lol.

Once the screening was over we decided to use our Uuber detective skills to find several of the Pure Pwnage filming locations such as New Gen, Pauper’s, Maggie’s, the park where they play frisbee in ep 14 and the bar where Jeremy and Tagi get bitched out by that crazy bitch in ep 14. Check out our pictures below…we have more pictures, but the site is only so big so hopefully you all enjoy the ones we decided to post. After that it was off to the bars to finish off the night. Hey webfans, I don’t know how much I will have to say today since due to a touch of the flu I have been disconnected from most of the world with only my psychology text books from hell to keep me company. I thought I should make a post anyways so that my three compatriots don’t get all the glory.

This Tuesday will be the release of Dawn of War: Soulstorm, the third expansion/stand alone game in the Dawn of War RTS series. It will feature two new playable races (Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar) for a total of 9 UNIQUE playable races. This expansion also introduces aerial units and boasts a huge single player campaign. GO BUY THIS GAME!! The game’s co-developer Iron Lore (also developed Titan Quest and it’s expansion) announced that it will be closing its doors due to financial problems. Thankfully this will not affect the release of Soulstorm, but who now will take on future DoW projects!?

I also saw that of late there has been yet another school shooting in the United States, this time in the University of Illinois. Where there are school shootings you can bet to find our old friend Jack Thompson spreading lies, deceit and corruption by blaming video games for all of it. Did I say video games, I meant to say “murder simulators”, its really sad to say that in this day and age people like Thompson are deemed worthy enough to be put on TV, if you can call Fox News TV.

I read Rapidfires post regarding WoW and let me tell ou that I have cancelled my subscription…in favor of another MMORPG, its name Warhammer Online. Yes thats right, Warhammer Fantasy Battle is taking to your computer screen this year and promises some cool new features such as realm VS realm battles to simulate the ongoing wars between races. You may play on the side of order as the dwarves, empire of man, and high elves. Or the side of disorder (hell yes) as the forces of Orcs and Goblins, Chaos, and the Dark Elves. I just hope it turns out to be everything it promises to be.

Well thats it for now, I have to go get some sleep, I promised myself that if I’m not better by Monday I’m committing suicide.

I once saw someone propose to their girlfriend using the forge map editor on Halo 3 and back then I thought that I had seen everything. It turns out….I was wrong.

It seems that the world’s biggest Massively Multiplayer Online Role playing Game (MMORPG), World of Warcraft has been stirring up trouble in RL (Real Life). As those of you who have played WoW already know, it can be an incredibly addicting game. So much so that it can almost literally consume people’s lives, making them devote every spare minute to battling through dungeons with their online friends. For the most part this has been seen as a relatively harmless addiction, but recently a 28 year old woman from California divorced her husband after six years of marriage over his addiction to WoW.

“He would get home from work at 6:00, start playing at 6:30, and he’d play until 3:00AM. Weekends were worse - it was morning straight through until the middle of the night,” she told Yahoo! Games in an interview. “It took away all of our time that we spent together. I ceased to exist in his life.”

Ironically enough it was the wife who got him started on Wow. She used to work for Blizzard and gave WoW to her husband as a Christmas gift in 2004…LOL. I personally take this as just another reason to never play this game, but to you orcs elves and sorcerers out there…resist the power of MMORPGs…they are the DEVIL. HAPPY FAMILY DAY EVERYONE!!!
As you may know if you are living in Canada…I’m not sure if any other countries joined in on this (but hopefully someone, anyone will comment on this, common people no free rides)…today is family day. The government decided that there were not enough statutory holidays in February so they created Family day, a made up holiday that is meant to celebrate families (and an extra day off school and work, WOO). This is another holiday in a string of manufactured holidays. From Valentine’s day to Halloween and now Family day, we are giving holidays simply for the sake of mindless enjoyment and to sell gifts. Not to say that I don’t enjoy another day of, but this just seems like another victory for materialism. Maybe I’m just mad because I don’t want to buy anymore gifts, but I’m a university student damn it…I’m allowed to be cheap.

Either way, I hope all you true believers out there take some time out of your day to post some comments about this or any other post on this blog of ours. Whether you have an interesting comment on the subject, you want to tell us how much we have decreased the level of suck in the world or if you want to hate on us and leave a post about the largeness of our hypothetical mothers…WHATEVER, as long as I know I’m not alone here lol.
